João de Almeida Pedro joined the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation as a Senior
Project Officer in 2013, focusing is scope of work in Health, Education and Research project management in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe, Mozambique and East Timor. Prior to joining the organization, he worked in the public Hospital Pharmacy sector for 4 years before we started is academic career in the Lisbon School of Health Technology were he was a professor for 10 years and also course coordinator, technical assistance in developing countries, project manager and vice-president of this public education institution.

He has a bachelor in pharmacy, a master in Science Education and expects to finish is Public Health PhD during 2015. He is currently also a Research Associate in CISA (Angola Health Research Centre) focusing is research work in the Cardiovascular Diseases, linking this results with the previous work on Neglected Tropical Diseases,highlighting the epidemiological transition period that developing countries faces.
